I took my girlfriend to the aquarium as part of her birthday funday excursion. I was definitely hesitant to purchase tickets since many of the reviews kept mentioning the "old" aquarium. Since Goldstar offered such cheap prices I went with it...continued

As a SF Resident, I usually avoid these tourist things. But I figured I would do it @ the Goldstar price. Small, but interesting but I don't think it's worth the full price. It was not busy the day I went. Later afternoon is best so as to...continued

This was a small aquarium, but, it was really cool walking underneath and you were able to see the fish and sharks swimming on the sides of you and above you. They also had a place where you could actually touch the sharks as well, very friendly...continued

My husband and I have always meant to go, but never did. We decided to go this weekend, after the fabulous deal came up and loved it.

The Aquarium was on our list for a bay area day-cation trip, so when I saw the Goldstar special I booked it. This was our first trip to the Aquarium and although it is "aquarium-lite" when compared to the Monterey Aquarium (as others have said)...continued

Educational and interesting, oriented toward Bay creatures and improving the environment for them. Nice exhibits, clean, and helpful, pleasant staff.

Great deal for the price. There was no line when we arrived, the exhibits were not crowded. The staff at the Aquarium By the Bay are so well informed and pleasant. Very enjoyable...I'd definitely recommend it!!! Bring a camera. It's worth it.

I really enjoyed myself at the aquarium, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I thought it was going to be a little bit more like the Monterey Bay Aquarium and have a bunch of attractions, and displays, so I was a little disappointed. What they...continued

Compared to the Monterey Bay Aquarium or the many tanks in the lower level of the Academy of Sciences, this is smaller and more modest. But,
for those with little ones wanting a convenient location (near Pier 39 restaurants and a large parking...continued

This was great! I got to 'pet' a leopard shark - that was well worth the $10. (note: if you are bringing children, buy the tickets there for $8 and save $2!).

I've always passed it hanging out at pier 39. So, this time We decided to give it a try (at goldstar) pricing. Its a bit small for an aquarium, but it has everything. I made this a 1-2 hour thing, and came in late saturday afternoon. Not...continued

The actual aquarium was great to walk through-it can be pretty quick for adults but it is good for kids. There is a short exhibit upstairs and downstairs has the tunnel with surrounding fish, sharks, etc. When you exit the elevator upstairs there...continued

Much of the musuem centers around the peril the oceans are in and what we can do to preserve them which I found useful and educational especially since the musuem is very child-friendly.
Some great creatures and exhibits. Compared to the bigger...continued

This is an outstanding aquarium with an awesome tube that you walk through surrounded by sharks, rays etc. The staff is very helpful and the location on Fisherman's Wharf is fantastic.

went to the aquarium with my 5.5 year old daughter. we spend about 1.5 hrs and saw most of the place. it was just enough to hold her interest for that time. she loved touching the bay rays, the leopard shark, the starfish and meeting the hedgehog.

A smaller aquarium than San Francisco's Steinhart, but has good displays and lots of information on the displays. If you want to visit an aquarium and do not make it an all day visit, this aquarium would fit the ticket (we were there (2 adults)...continued

I have to confess, I am Aquarium spoiled. Atlanta, New Orleans, Long Beach- all first rate experiences. This just felt, well, a little inferior. Old. Dated. Tired. Dark.
But I LOVE the Aquarium, and I want more people to visit, so I feel...continued

for some reason, even tho we visit pier 39 frequently we had never gone to the aquarium. I took my 82 year old mother and we both loved it. What an experience walking thru the tunnel. We were both very impressed.
