Thought the play didn't stand up well to time.
Some performances were fine but the lead Cherie was not good. At times she could barely be heard.

I must say the set was terrific.

THe play is well acted, particularly by the young waittress. It is a play that reflects the time in which it was written and much of the material and character development seem quaint. But given the time, the director got exactly the spirit of...continued

I loved the play, my only problem was not hearing some of the dialog. No, it is not my hearing, but when Cherie was whispering I had to crane my neck in the third row. Very well cast. As I did not see the film I have no comparison. I enjoyed it...continued

Good production. A few casting problems, but generally well directed.

A dull play with primitive dialogue.

The play was OK, sufficiently entertaining and acted. I liked the set/staging but the overall experience left my friend and I rather indifferent. We decided the play itself (context, characters, story, etc.) was just not that interesting to us.

A moving meditation on separation, loneliness, and healing human contact. The characters are insightfully drawn and superbly portrayed by this cast. Well worth a trip to Olney, even from Northern Virginia.

It was a really cute comedy. The young cowboy's character reminded us of someone we know so we laughed even harder. We had great seats only a few rows back from the stage. We've never had a bad experience at the Olney Theater.

This is a good play. But its too bad that the woman who played Cherie spoke too quickly and kept her head down when she spoke. I, and my companions, could not understand most of what she was saying.

This play was so boring I took a nap (and I am not elderly). The set was very good. The director should have sat in the audience seating at least once to discover that one cannot hear an actor who is facing the back of the stage regularly...continued

The Olney production, directed beautifully by Austin Pendleton, was a delight. All the actors were top notch. The William Inge play is bittersweet and that was the feeling of this production. The set and technical values superb. I was very moved...continued

The set was fantastic. We had great seats up front but could not hear some of the actors who seemed to swallow their words. Overall, though, we enjoyed the production and look forward to visiting the Olney Theater again soon.
