I don't consider myself a musical theater fan, but had always loved this particular soundtrack ... and this show was exceptional. The voices, the performances, the staging, the direction and the sets are all wonderful, and the multicultural mix...continued

I have seen South Pacific many times and love the score; I think it is Rodgers and Hammerstein's best. This production was beautifully sung and for the most part beautifully acted. I thought Carmen Cusack as Nellie really owned the show. She...continued

As we were lucky enough to see this show at Lincoln Center last summer, I just had to take my girls and their Grandpa as well to this show. Although the stage is half of the size of the one in NY, I must say that the show shines brightly. The...continued

I saw this production of South Pacific in New York at the Lincoln Center. It was spectacular and majestic. The show had to be scaled down for the tour since the stage at Lincoln Center is huge. The main thing missing now is the two jeeps that...continued

Seats were great and the performance was excellent. The songs in this musical call for terrific voices and they came with the good voices. "Nellie" stood out as a modern day Mary Martin type--she stole the show. The play hasn't lost any of its...continued

I couldn't have asked for a better seat! It's a beautiful production! If you like R&H, you'll love this production!

I was disappointed in the production, largely because I thought the acting of the main actors, with the notable exception of the woman playing Nellie, was clunky beyond belief. Particularly the actor playing Emile basically stood there and sung...continued

South Pacific is THE musical to see on stage! It's one OF Rogers & Hammerstein's best! The music is delightful and poignant. The play is fun and written well. The Ahmanson is just big enough to fill you with the "Broadway" feeling, but small...continued

My favorite R&H, done up just right. The sets, starting with the pre-show curtain and Michener's own words... the bathing-suit clad nurses, the lush tropical lighting, all terrific. The charming leads, Rod Gilfry, Carmen Cusack -- if they don't...continued

Really nicely done. Staging was interesting and voices were on the whole great. I hadn't seen this play in 30 years, it was wonderful to see it again. Brought back great memories of a great, toe-tapping, hum-along musical.

Although sleepy at times, I do not for a second think it was due to a lackluster performance. The talent was superb! But the air conditioning didn't manage to hit the rear orchestra and it was HOT.

South Pacific . . . was great! The sets, the orchestra, the singing, the dancing . . . it was the best broadway production in Los Angeles my wife and I have had the privilege of viewing. We've recommended "South Pacific" to all of our friends.

Some very good voices, but the directing was very static. Chemistry was lacking between the two couples. The production had a "low budget" feeling: sets, lighting and very scant female chorus. My guests and I were all underwhelmed and disappointed.

If there were a higher rating scale, this musical would be way off the charts. It was phenomenal! Words cannot describe the whole production. This is a MUST SEE before it is too late. If you miss this one, you will never forgive yourself. The...continued
