This was one of the most powerful plays I have ever seen. The play itself is first rate. The acting and directing are outstanding. It truly was one of the best theater experiences of my life and I have seen many, many plays.

I really went to the play to see the new Arena Theatre which I had not visited before. However, I was very surprised to enjoy the play as much as I did since I remembered having read the book many years ago and not particularly liked it. This...continued

This was a wonderful play with humor, intellectual stimulation, touching emotional scenes and excellent acting. The plot by Potok is an insightful view of the internal struggles that ensue when the values of modern society are in conflict with...continued

I went with a group of 5 friends, one of whom was Jewish, 4 of whom had read the book many years ago. We all loved it! The glossary in the program and the context of the play were helpful in explaining the Jewish terms. No one should miss this...continued

Beautifully acted and true to the novel. My only criticism is that many lines were lost due to the configuration of the stage and the position of the actors in relation to the four-sided audience.

This was an excellent production -- every member of the cast was outstanding. I have urged everyone I've talked to since yesterday to see "The Chosen" -- one of the finest plays I've seen lately.

Fantastic adaptation of a wonderful book. Fantastic acting in a riveting, intense drama. Go see it! (Don't look for any women characters, though. All five actors are men, and women only get small mention. But that's characteristic of Potok's books.)

I think the staging and writing made the characters too stylized. I don't think they were fleshed out enough. As a revuewer elswhere suggested, the use of the adult Reuben as narrator was not particularly elucidating, but instead appeared to be...continued

Enjoyed the show very much. Unfortunately the actors' backs were to us often, but we could still hear. The theater is intimate so you can certainly see everything. The 5 actors who carried the entire show were amazing. Definitely worthwhile...continued

excellent production, well acted, especially by both Reuvens (introducing "older Reuven" is excellent way to fill in the blanks for those who might not have read the book) and Danny's rabbi father.
