I had an awesome day!
Kirk was phenomenally informative. Patient when teaching. A great fisherman. And very open and sharing of his techniques and ideas.
I'm looking forward to signing up for another outing soon

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. If you like the idea of foraging (which I do), you will definitely find this tour worthwhile. Kirk obsessively loves what he does. You will also learn a lot about the marine ecology of the Bay Area fisheries, the...continued

innovative approach to how to catch your dinner. It went a little long but still held our interest as he pulled out an eel late in the tour from near a sewer outlet. More interesting than practical skills although catching a crab with a fishing...continued

It was just a rainy cold day when Kirk the classic coastal forager began telling how he came to be a coastal forager and and how he does what he does best. Our party of four totally enjoyed our time with him and walked away with a whole lot more...continued

Kirk has a passion for the sea and all its bounty that he is able to communicate in a humorous, down-to-earth way. We enjoyed his tour immensely and would highly recommend it to adults and children alike.

Kirk is a real San Francisco treasure! He is great to listen to and learn from, whether you plan to go foraging or just want to learn more about the fish and game of the Bay and Ocean.

Kirk is a wealth of knowledge about the Bay marine ecosystem. He taught us how to throw a herring net, how to look for herring spawning, how to catch a crab and how to catch and eel. He caught both a crap and several eels in our presence. We...continued

Kirk is great. We had no idea there was so much sea life right there in the marina. He caught two kinds of crab, a rock fish, a monkey-faced eal, showed us all how to throw nets for smelt, herring, or anchovies, and told us all about the seaweed...continued

Kirk is knowledgable however, when I go on a natural history tour where I've been asked to wear rubber boots, I don't expect to be standing for 2 hours in a parking lot listening to someone talk.
