Darkly comic - not for the faint-hearted or those who dislike bad language. Excellent direction and acting, as we've come to expect from Cygnet. They're to be congratulated on risking this one.

It was an odd play. I'm glad that I saw it, but I wouldn't go see it again. Leaving the theater I thought to myself that it reminded me of some of my own writing, which is why I'm not recognized today as a play-write. The acting was fine, but...continued

A Behanding in Spokane was GREAT....Very Quentin Tarantino-esque. Super intense, funny, and the acting was superb. I highly reccommend it!!!

It was a preview but the actors were not in tune with the dark humor of the play. The laughs were few and far between as a result.

Not your average, run of the mill production for the Cygnet in Old Town - which is one of the many reasons why this play was so enjoyable! The cast (four actors) really do an outstanding job. It's from the writer of "In Bruges", and it...continued

"A Behanding in Spokane" is by far the worse show I have ever experienced, and I have seen many plays over the years. The Cygnet Theatre Company typically has very high standards and performs excellent pieces. This play was racist,...continued

The entire cast was great; the set and costumes were perfect. Gruesome humor may not appeal to everyone, but we loved the play. This is the fourth work by McDonagh that we've seen. His use of the language and insight into the human mind provide...continued

Hands down it was a fun ride. Good acting, an interesting situation, and some non-standard props.

I really loved this play! Of course, I've been a long standing fan of the movie (In Bruges) , and though it had much of the same style. A short movie could likely be made. Obviously, it didn't have the polish of a feature length, high budget...continued

Just saw it, and loved it. It is a very dark, politically incorrect dramady. If your feelings are hurt by profane languages and racial epithets, go see something else. Anyone who read up on the play before buying tickets would know what the play...continued

Would you pay to hear the words --Mother-Fucker --yelled at least 100 times? This play is an insult to the quality of work previously done at Cygnet. The set was good, acting good, general story ok. Unfortunately, the writer or director or both...continued

Yes, a "dark comedy," as advertised, and a little quirky -- but fun. 3 out of 4 of us in our party really enjoyed it. I can definitely see Christopher Walken playing the lead (as he did on Broadway).

I thought this play had a lot of potential, but unfortunately it fell short of it.

There were a decent amount of humorous lines, but in between there was a bunch of filler which just didn't seem to flow very well. There was some dialogue...continued

Great show! Very high energy. The language was a little rough but the show was very funny. Our seats were close enough that we felt like we were on stage with the actors.

I have seen Martins work before. Twice on Broadway. Pillowman and the Lieutenant of Inishmore. My first was The Beauty Queen of Leenane at The Lyceum. Those were my favorites.I also saw The Ion Theatre's production of Pillowman.
