I remember this group from my childhood days. It was good to see and hear them again. I loved it.

More improv jazz was played that I wanted to hear. There were 2 tunes that were not improv that were really nice to my ear.

The music was wonderful and they played a long time. There was great audience participation and introduction to and demonstration of the talking drum.

Upbeat and fun. Excellent evening out with my group of friends. We also enjoyed a few sushi rolls during the show.

The musician and her band were pretty much wonderful. Yoshi's, on the other hand, fouled up several of our bills, and one of the servers was rude and abrupt. Made for an uneven evening.

I find his music a one-time only experience- too thundering in beat and repetitive in presentation (his dancers are an unnecessary 'cheap and cheerful' distraction if one wants to seriously enjoy music).... Saw it once, did not need to see it again.

I had looked on the web to find out about Marcus Johnson. It seemed fine. It was nothing compared to the blast of noise from the drums that reached my ears. I should have sat in the back, but even as I had earplugs in, I still got a headache, and...continued

Rene Marie and her stellar band are all STARS that shared their talent with the adoring crowd. The evening was magical and was one of the BEST musical experiences of my lifetime.
She is a treasure and her band backs her perfectly.

I'm a big fan of Kat Edmonson after seeing her 2 summers ago open for Lyle Lovett at the Mountain Winery; I was so excited to learn she would perform at Yoshi's and she did not disappoint. Buy her CD and judge for youself!!
