This was a wonderful presentation of a beautiful and difficult work, musically done to perfection. I enjoyed it much more than I had expected to. It was very moving.

Music is forgettable, voices except for sister not great, acting good. Left at intermission and looked up Floyd on Wikipedia to see if they got him out.

The historical event detailed by the show was interesting. But the music from the show didn't really contribute much to the plot and really slowed down the pace of the show. Most of the music didn't really have a consistent melody, nor much...continued

A beautiful and moving production of one of the best musicals of modern times. The cast is generally very strong, especially the actor in the title role -- his acting and singing were astonishingly good. The music, by Adam Guettel, is rich,...continued

I really loved this show. The lead actors are extremely well cast -- gorgeous voices and fantastic acting especially from Floyd and his 2 siblings. There are many standout performances in the ensemble as well, making for a very well rounded cast....continued

The show was awesome! The cast was very good and the direction was incredible. The music to this play is impossible to sing (and gorgeous) and the mostly young cast does a fantastic job. I saw it on their first preview and many of the actors...continued

Thought the performance was great! A few songs dragged, but there performers were great and the story was interesting.

Miner trapped in his life and in a Kentucky mine, set to blue grass music.
Good voices but the play and some of the songs went on far too long.

Although I felt the actors did a great job and had wonderful voices I just don't agree with the description of an "intriguing bluegrass-meets-classical score". It did not sound anything like bluegrass OR classical! Some of the songs were...continued

Even though this is a musical, it is very dark. The play including the 10 minute intermission was 2 hours and 20 minutes - too long! The young man playing Floyd Collins has a wonderful voice.

Very strong performances and a perfect set. With time, this play has all that is needed to become a classic modern day opera.

All in all, a good show. Vocally - amazing. However as this show is based on a true story, the cast was almost entirely too young - especially Floyd, Homer and Miss Jane.

The acting and singing was just okay. The set was terrible aa was the direction. It was more community theater than professional. I am glad that I used Goldstar because it would not have been worth the full ticket price.

Wonderful music. Simple storytelling with a simple set. We particularly liked Greg Foster as Skeets Miller and Jon Harrison who played Floyd's brother Homer. They both found a natural realism within the world of the play. The show was a bit long...continued

A worthwile night at the theater. The performances are engaging and the story compelling. The songs in the first act include a lot of exposition, making the play feel like an opera, not bad but no show stoppers. The second act begins with a more...continued
