Solid performances by most of the cast, with special mention going to Adam Magill's Edmond whose oily, self-righteous evil is particularly memorable. Ross Harkness' Lear was irritatingly wrong-headed in the first half, and heart-breakingly sad and...continued

Another great production from SSTC. Good direction, an excellent staging concept, and very well choreographed and executed fight scenes. Harkness' Lear was a stand-out performance, as was Edgar.

Sanborn park is a beautiful setting for an park production of Shakespeare. The cast was wonderful, we were sucked right into the drama. It is a small venue so not a bad seat in the house. We brought a cooler with snacks and drinkss but they have...continued

For those of us who are not that much into the arts but are testing out the waters, this was a fun and unusual way to start out. The atmosphere was great being out in the middle of nature but close enough to the city! The performers were fun and...continued

Great venue in beautiful Sanborn park. Excellant performaces and staging. I would have given it 5 stars but I am not a huge Shakespeare fan.

It was a great value for the price! We had a lot of fun and thought the show was well done. My one complaint is sitting in those folding chairs for a few hours is really uncomfortable. Next time, I will try to bring some type of cushion to sit on.

The acting was good, and I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of the the cast, the set, etc. Had not been to a previous performance, and would recommend this troupe to others who are unsure.
An additional bonus is the lovely location...continued

We did not care much for the show. We like Shakespeare plays where they improvise on the language a little so that you can understand it. Not only was the language difficult to understand in this particular show, many of the actors did not...continued

Actors and attire were very good. Would have liked more amplification, though my hearing was adequate. No face mikes were apparent,so
super-sensitive mikes must have been used.A lengthy show so it was
good to have an intermission.

Fantastic setting. One actor (the fool) could not make it but the rest of the cast filled in. A very enjoyable evening. Every seat was a good seat.

I so appreciate Shady Shakespeare providing us with the opportunity to experience Shakespeare's plays at the cost of going to a movie... and in such a beautiful setting! I always leave with a feeling of renewal. Driving up the mountain, walking...continued

Top notch performances by the entire cast. Moments of utter beauty under a star lit sky. We thoroughly enjoyed the perfomance, the night and our bottle of champagne. This is just a little jewel in the woods.

Very enjoyable performance. Actors' skills ranged from exceptional (King Lear) to merely adequate. Had the usual casting challenge in community theater of not enough male actors to fill all the male roles so they had to fill in with women. Basic...continued

Lots of good things about this production, especially the actor playing Edgar. Very sad that so few people were there on a Thursday night. Venue very comfortable.

This event is worth it for the venue alone! Sanborn Park is gorgeous and the perfect setting for a play; the stage and seating is surrounded by a circle of redwoods. Perfect!

We had never been to Sanborn County Park. Great venue. The play was very good. Good character actors who played their part well.
