Knowing that we are about to see a difficult to understand play, we red the plot, the interpretations, knew the characters and key phrases. Yet, despite of the actor's efforts, there was nothing more than pretentious, boring pile of words and...continued

Great acting! The play is like a Twilight Zone episode where you don't really know what is happening, and why, and what is the truth. We stayed for the discussion afterwards and were amazed at how many interpretations there were. Definitely a...continued

The writer succeeds in leaving the crowd completely and utterly confused throughout the show. It was hilariously scatterbrained and I really enjoyed the different explanations my friends came up with at each intermission.

I am sorry to say I didn't care for the play at all. I generally really enjoy Steppenwolf productions and especially like the discussion after the play. The audience wanted more help understanding the play, and the representative from the...continued

The acting was terrific, really great by all, and the play was confusing but fascinating. The conversation it sparked between my friend and I was fun. I appreciated the Q & A with the director following the performance and found it illuminating....continued

It wasn't clear to me whether the play was inane or the delivery. Except for John Mahoney, who was great, the actors were rather mediocre. The interpretation/directing was also mediocre. Maybe trying a bit too hard to be extravagant.
Not a good...continued

This was an outstanding night of theatre! I had wanted to see a Pinter play, and noticed this was running at Steppenwolf. Luckily, I read up on the play on Wikipedia and a recent newspaper review first, because this particular play is...continued

If you're looking for resolution of every issue or even an understanding of what those issues are, this probably is not the play for you. However, if you're a fan of Pinter, theatrical conflict, tension, ambiguity and outstanding performances, you...continued

Since I'm a huge Frasier fan this is the first play I've seen with John Mahoney and I would see him in anything. In other words, I went strictly to see him. Unusual play in itself but so is all of Pinter's work.

The theatre is set up so the audience is on two sides with the stage in the middle so there isn't a bad set in the house. The performances were riveting and fascinating to watch. The technical side helped to tell the story. The entire...continued
