Review from Humanist

Beautifully staged and with sharp, witty writing to match. This play offered a far more nuanced view of conservatives, particularly to progressive Boston audiences. Many laugh-out-loud moments, and not always at the expense of our usual targets.

A very thought-provoking and engaging play, with very strong acting and dialogue. It's basically a traditional play in terms of dialogue and staging, with primary focus on challenging family dynamics. I personally thought a few of the plot twists...continued

Well acted, except for the daughter in the first act seemed to be overacting. That improved in the second act. The mother and aunt were outstanding. The story seemed a little slow in the first act, but after the second act, you understand that the...continued

The play was well written and poignant. It had witty, laugh-out-loud moments, but whether it was the acting or the play--it left me cold.

I enjoyed the performances, generally, but thought it could have been a little tighter ie. shorter. Also, toned down a bit - some of the actors seemed to get a bit carried away.

Well acted drama of family trauma and secrets surfacing at a family get together on Christmas eve. A captivating climax in the second act that mesmerizes the audience. Well worth seeing.
