A must!! As soon as Alexis Rogers opened her mouth it was as though "putting someone in a "TRANCE." Her singing, the setting, the trio and her biographical journey was amazing. If you miss "Lady Day at Emerson's, SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!

The music is great, and Alexis Rogers mimics Holiday's delivery wonderfully, but what makes this an even more worthwhile performance is the delivery of the biographical material. It comes across as the rambling of someone trying to keep it...continued

We were able to grab the last tickets for the Matinee on 2/10. Alexis Rogers is riveting as Billie Holiday. For one and half hours she sings her songs and tells her story. Felt like I was seeing the real Billie Holiday. Don't miss.

I saw the production "Lady Day" at the Porchlight Theater. Alexis Rogers was breathtaking in the role. When I closed my eyes as she sung, I thought I was back in the days with Billie Holiday. Her monologues, also made me reflect on what...continued

The small venue of around 150 people was perfect for transporting me to a "cool jazz club" in Chicago of the 1960's. Of course Lady Day wasn't there then but the other elements were, dim lights and a great jazz trio.
Saturday night was better...continued

All four participants were great and very authentic. I was back in 1957 and I did not mind it.

Enjoyed it very much, although I wished I had read up on Billie Holiday before I got there. I was familiar with several songs, but no clue about others. The actress was amazing!
