I am surprised and sorry to say that the performance was boring. Left at the end of the second intermission.

goldstar came through wih wonderful seats, rear of orchestra, but right in the middle, great sight lines. The staging was unimaginative, and on the whole nothing was bad, but nothing was thrilling. Ms Racette delivered the nuanced performance...continued

This was a very enjoyable opera and the performances were top notch. It is not full of famous arias, not a show-stopper and had traditional sets and staging, did not recognize any of the music. But a very impressive cast and some wonderful...continued

Manon Lescaut was truly well-done. The singing was great and the acting was great.

This was my first opera and I quite enjoyed it. The only issue was that the orchestra seemed too loud for some of the singers, otherwise it was an excellent show. There was also sub-titling so one could understand what was going on.

Puccini's first opera, well done, but the music had not yet reached his peak. The performers were excellent and overall a fun evening.

The music was beautiful and much of the singing excellent. Stage sets are interesting and costumes lovely.

I would recommend it.

Excellent production! Beautiful sets! A disjointed story held together with much creativity. Patricia Racette excelled as usual.

My favorite part was the after show discussion with the conductor and stars. One opera goer of many years...continued

Excellent performances. Both leads sang with passion and fervor. The set was more pared down than other productions of M.L. I've seen but served the story well. Not my favorite Puccini opera from a music standpoint but well-worth seeing. ...continued

Pretty good performance! The DC Opera is definitely not the Met but they put on a good show. The sets were great for the first few acts, I didn't care for the last one though.

Patricia Racette is well on the way to making Manon her own. I wish I could say that about the rest of the cast. The poor Des Grieux, a substitute for the original tenor, was simply not in her league, though he did get better as the evening went...continued

Strong singing by lead singers. Last stage set wasn't appropriate for the mood of the drama.

This was not one of the best operas I have seen. The 3rd Act seemed too slow and there were several parts that seemed too long and sort of out of place.

Enjoyed the performance. However I was a little disappointed in my seat, which was way over to the side. I think there were better seats available for a single. I had requested it rather early on and was supposed to get "Red Velvet"...continued

Amazing opera; wonderful performers and sets. I thought some of the transitions between songs were awkward, but on the whole, it was fantastic. Tickets were great, seats were 6 rows back from the orchestra.

Voices beautiful - scenery not so much - in fact a little tacky - you could see back stage movement in the huge mirrors and it was distracting - still a lovely evening at the opera!

Artists were superb, as were the orchestra, costumes, and set. A really splendid traditional opera experience
