Sharp contrast between the first and second half provided an eclectic evening of ballet. The first half was filled with familiar, romantic-era music; fluid color; and exquisite choreographic composition flowing from one tableau to another. The...continued

Spectacular dancing and an intriguing approach to the career of Vaslav Nijinsky. The first act was flawless, the second act was more intense, but dragged a bit. The dancers were all extremely consistent in rather punishing choreography. An...continued

First of all, if you're someone who, like me, likes to follow a story, I strongly recommend that you study up on Ninjinsky on Wikipedia or wherever and that you read the program notes to understand what's going on.

Otherwise, you will see...continued

Amazing performance, quite unique choreography and an extraordinary level of commitment from the dancers. They were literally throwing themselves around on stage. The story is dark and at times very heavy to watch but the interpretation was...continued

Review from JUNE I

Najinsky was a choreographer and dancer in the early 20th century. This ballet was his interpretation of a dance he created in the 1930's. This dance was strenous and provacative and controversal for it's content but it was excellently executed. ...continued

Definitely not a traditional ballet performance. The leads were fantastic. Enjoyed immensely.

To be honest, I would have preferred to pay more for closer seats. The opera house is huge and the dress circle is quite a ways back.

A very emotional ballet telling the story of Nijinsky's life. Though confusing at times with the characters, but the dancing and music with a full orchestra were wonderful.

It was a great Valentine surprise for my wife after dinner at Chez Maman. My wife loves it, she says it's awesome and brilliant, "the footwork is still somewhat classic but the movements are modern". She absolutely enjoyed it, she could watch it...continued

This was by far the darkest ballet I have ever seen. I didn't care for it and would not ever see it again.

Re-interpretation of Nijinsky's final performance and in 1919 and his descent into madness. The music and dancing were amazing. Part two may have been a bit too long but that is quibbling. Loved it!!

The ballet was incredible but the seats were so far away we couldn't see. The seats were so close and uncomfortable (Dress Circle) and we were so cramped we left at the intermission. I was so disappointed because I thought the seats would be so...continued

The subject, visuals and athleticism of the dancing were captivating. I enjoyed the first act much more than the 2nd which I found a bit tedious... I think there may have been a more colorful way to show Nijinsky's fall into madness... the...continued

Even better than I imagined it would be -- the dancers drew on an amazing combination of skills and athleticism and it provided evocative vignettes depicting Nijinsky's life and the period before and after WW1.
