This was a great movie in a great theater that has been very well maintained. I loved watching it with an audience.

Very nice. Introduction slide show with old pictures of aqueduct being constructed. The hair stylist for Faye Dunaway and told some very interesting anecdotes.

Loved the venue, but the movie's print was TERRIBLE! Scratches, fades, bleached out scenese. It looked like the Alex got this print of the movie from a garage sale.

Great venue, Always come early to the Alex Theater, as the seats are unreserved.

Great movie. An interesting blend of history and who done it detective movie.
The Alex theater is a fun place to see a movie in

Great movie, great experience in that there was an interesting introduction of the history of the L.A. Aqueduct complete with historical film footage. Discovered new or forgotten insights since its first screening in the 70's; brought my 25 year...continued

Loved the venue, loved the movie! The Alex Film Society should do these more often. My only feedback is that they should just have a projector display ads in the very beginning (like they do at AMC/Regal) to explain membership benefits, so that...continued

Took my mom to see one of her fave films on a lovely Saturday afternoon. This is such a beautiful classic theater (Alex Theater in Glendale), to watch a great film. The only complaint was the film print wasn't the greatest, but that's more a...continued

The theater is gorgeous and proved to be an excellent place to watch CHINATOWN, which I was finally able to see on the big screen. The chairs were comfortable, the screen seemed enormous and the women's bathroom must have been redone because it...continued

Great movie, of course, but the print was scratchy and muddy, and the event lacked some "panache" in the introduction and setup. It was fantastic to see this movie on the big screen, and maybe that's enough, but Alex could use some help creating...continued

Always a great experience at the Alex & Chinatown doesn't fail to staying in my top 10
movies.
This was a Paramount Pictures Print and Paramount should be ashamed at the poor quality of a classic film print.

Love going to the Alex Theater! I took a friend who had never been there-the same way I was first introduced to the theater. Neither of us had ever seen Chinatown before and we enjoyed it very much.
My only problem was the seat. I found it...continued

Ok, so of course Chinatown is a great movie, but this review is of the whole experience. This place is easy to get to, great parking and a quick efficient entrance, but here is why i only gave 3 stars. The theatre seats were awful, and the temp in...continued

The Alex Theater is beautiful and next to a ton of great restaurants. And China Town is... well, a classic.
