Very different performance than Hal Holbrook's. Mr. Kilmer brought in a lot of current references and seemed to mumble his way through the monologue. Younger members of the audience really liked his performance. I think it needs to be edited...continued

I thought this show was very moving in making you think about life and how fleeting it is and what impressions we can or cannot make. It made me think and it was surprisingly funny. It's not a traditional play, more like one-man stand-up in...continued

Val Kilmer is the most personable actor in theatre! The Q & A after the performance while his makeup was removed revealed an actor with a vast knowledge of Mark Twain.

I didn't find it as engaging as I was anticipating, however his quips and adlibs along with the way he finished with his interactive performance (don't want to spoil the surprise for those yet to see it) certainly were the highlights for me.

Wow were we pleasantly surprised! Having seen Hal Holbrook embody the role of Mark Twain we just couldn't see how it could be improved upon. We were skeptical to say the least. But from the few minutes before the show began when "Mark Twain"...continued

There really isn't a bad seat in the whole theater. I think in time, this will be a long running gig for Val Kilmer. I liked the way he interacted with the audience. Don't leave, because after the show, one will be in for a surprise.

It was a good show, and his opening and closing were unique and entertaining, as was much of his material. We struggled to understand some of his lines - too many of them, we thought - through his rough simulation of Twain's scratchy voice. And we...continued

Val Kilmer did an incredible job of portraying Mr. Twain. It was fun, funny and sharp. Get there early to watch him come out and interact with the audience. Stay and watch him take off his make-up and answer questions

What a wonderful experience. Loved the intimate theatre. It was a perfect setting for this particular event. Val Kilmer was a joy to watch. He took us all to another time and place. It dragged a little in the middle and I am uncomfortable with the...continued

Val IS the modern day Mark Twain, portraying both his wit, humor, and humanity. Awesome show!

Val Kilmer's one man play, Citizen Twain, was a hit with me. It seems the common complaint is that there was no storyline or that it "jumped around". I think that's the point. It's not supposed to be linear. When you're remembering events from...continued

It was really an awesome experience to see Val Kilmer perform. I had a seat on the aisle, which (for once) was completely worth it... (you will know what I mean when you go) I would take your seats 10 minutes before the show starts. Also, since...continued

Venue nice. Would have liked to eat in the area as there were many many restaurants to chose from. Nice area. Parking was under the Police Station and relatively inexpensive. Did not like the show at all. Val Kilmer could have been anyone. Didn't...continued

While Val Kilmer deserves high praise for his incredible performance (what a fantastic voice!), and his passion for Twain, this show about our most famous story-teller lacks a story! With no narrative drive, it stayed in dramatic neutral for the...continued

While Val Kilmer's talent as an actor is undeniable, I feel he needs help as a scriptwriter. The play had no storyline. At first, it seemed it was going to be a stand-up comedy routine starring Mark Twain but then he started rambling on, albeit...continued

Quite boring. Twain provides so much rich material-only so little of it was used. Also any actor (even a good one) needs a director. The fact that this production was self-directed was very obvious.
