Laugh and cry, be appalled and be amused... The Irish playwrights have it all. My mother in law was from Donegal and now is 99 years old and a beloved matriarch. If she (and her 2 daughters and 3 sons) had never left Ireland, this story could...continued

Excellent performances from the two leads, but be warned: the play at times is very hard to watch.

A huge disappointment for me--I am a Sarah Marshall fan, and even though I had read some of the mixed reviews about this black Irish dramedy-it was really not a good production!-
The worst part was not being able to understand any of the first 20...continued

Excellent production, wonderful cast and great setting, framed by an insightful and informative pre-production discussion and a thoughtful discussion after the production. A most enriching theatre experience all together.

Beautifully cast, terrific production. Not exactly a sunny play, to say the least, but well worth seeing.

Good performances overall, but the actress playing the mother was the standout. The story/plot was good, but I thought the ending left a little something to be desired.

Dark comedy. Great acting! The Irish accents took a few minutes to get used to. At first I thought they were speaking a totally different language, but after a short time you ear tunes in. Depressing story. Well worth seeing.

I loved it! I stayed for the talk-back afterwards. Some audience members complained about the Irish "accents." I had no problem. I understood it all. Maybe because I've studied acting for years. But no, these players did a superb job of projecting...continued

Everyone both at the theater and involved in the production was extremely friendly and accommodating and, unbeknownst to us, apparently the theater offers a feedback/discussion group after the show on Wednesday nights and possibly some...continued

Well acted, moving play (despite a thick Irish brogue). The performance merits 5 stars. I would have liked a happier ending, but that criticism goes to the playwright, not the production team and cast at Roundhouse Theater. I also enjoyed the...continued

Excellent production -- well-acted and well-staged. "Beauty Queen of Leenane" is worth watching, even if it is not always easy to watch. The characters live grim, isolated lives, and tragedies unfold over the course of the play. But if you stay...continued

This was my first time at Round House. I enjoyed the experience and the show was great. It would be nice if there were signs in the Metro station or on the street to point the way, but thankfully the Goldstar ticket confirmations have directions...continued

The (fake) Irish accents were distracting making it hard to understand. As the play progressed, the accents were going in and out. It is imperative to read the program notes to understand Irish slang. While the acting was great/superb, the play...continued

I really enjoyed the play! It was a bit "darker" that I had anticipated, but honestly, I think that added to the richness of it... The acting of the two female main characters was awesome, I would recommend this play!
