No music to follow along and sing, too hot inside, the single singers were not good, choir was good, in general - not a good night.

The best part was the chorus, which sang beautifully and was amplified marvelously by the excellent acoustics of the theater (built in 1912, before microphones were around to help out). The soloists were very talented, but weren't loud enough (we...continued

It was fun, it was great music, fantastic acoustics, a beautiful venue and lovely people - the only thing that would have made it better, would have been a full house of people singing the chorus parts, and scores for the audience/participants (...continued

Goldstar showed that there was only one ticket left in the mezzanine when I purchased. So I purchased and went by myself (because there was only one ticket available) The mezzanine was almost empty for the performance, with plenty of seats...continued

It was a great evening. Gorgeous theater, and convenient valet parking. ($10)

Excellent orchestra and chorus, and good soloists.

It seemed to me that the audience had a good time. They really sang there hearts out!! So did I.

Many thanks!!

Ordered music books were not delivered, making it hard for folks who hadn't sung Messiah in years to sing.

This was supposed to be a sing-along version of Handel's Messiah. Unfortunately there were no scores available. The conductor told us there had been a miscommunication. The performance was amateurish, but spirited. Unfortunately, most people did...continued

Delightful evening at the Spreckels Theater. Casual, with the necessary formality of a performance, heartfelt, with enthusiastic audience participation! Kudos on the inaugural event. Hope to be there with my Mom again next year!

I love Handel's Messiah and I garnered an appreciation for the pieces...I found it a bit unorthodox to have people moving around the theatre but it was nice to see the audience collaborate with the orchestra and singers. I would recommend people...continued

This was HORRIBLE! I am contacting the ballet to see if I can get a refund. It was billed as a singalong -- that's the whole purpose. They said they'd have scores available to rent -- you CAN NOT do a sing along of this complex music without one....continued
