This play was a terrible disappointment. My husband and I left the theatre before the intermission. The dialogue was unnecessarily loud.
The language was vulgar and terribly offensive and was not necessary to enhance the story. I admire the...continued

Performers were superb, but flawed system did them a disservice. Even lines not deliberately muffled were muddled.

Our Red Velvet seats were outstanding. Play is thought-provoking, very well-written and acted, with an amazing set. However, a lot of the language is extremely coarse, and it does take a while to get used to the rhythm and tenor of the overlapping...continued

Interesting in the theme of the deaf world and issues in family communication. Sometimes hard to hear in the balcony despite excellent hearing. Also, it was not always easy to understand the speech of the deaf son. Unique, in that it dealt with...continued

I had really good seats, and folks at Steppenwolf were very friendly. Many people had rescheduled due to the weather, so there were many available seats closer to stage, and ushers offered them to us, but we stayed in ours, as they were fine....continued

Our experience with tickets bought through Goldstar for Steppenwolf has been consistently great. Despite the fact that we had seats assigned at the office, we once again, got 2nd row seats - princess seats as we call it. The play was also very...continued

The play is interesting - but DO NOT sit in the balcony. It was very difficult to hear the actors (ironic, right?) - makes me wonder if buying tickets through Goldstar was a good idea, since the seats are assigned by the box office when you...continued

The acting was great, as was the staging, but my issue was with the script. I felt the message was delivered in a heavy handed way. Also, the conflict was practically constant and lost its power for me. Too many words delivered too loudly and...continued

What an excellent performance! The writing was wonderful, the screen with the text translations when they were signing was a interesting point, and the actor who played the father was great (although not the regular player) - so all-around a...continued

Excellent. The staff at Steppenwolf were so accommodating and let us exchange our matinee tickets for the evening performance as weather trouble with traffic delays made us late for the matinee. My entire group were impressed with their...continued

The first act sounded as if an orchestra is fine-tuning for a concerto. Each instrument tries its own sound, plays a few notes, adjusts and tries again to make sure it's ready. The concerto started right before the end of the first act with a...continued

The facilitator for the discussion was trying to get people involved but in doing that never answered one question. Kind of frustrating. The play was good but left many unresolved issues. Wish I could ask the writer the questions. Thought the end...continued

There was a long line at will-call right before the show, but it moved quickly and they didn't start until it had been fully cleared. It would have been better to arrive more than 15 mins before the show started.
The show itself was fascinating....continued

Too much unnecessary foul language and profanity that was totally unnecessary to get the idea across.
The show did bring up some issues that are true to the deaf community and people with hearing loss
