A little slow at the beginning, the Old masters artistically roars through the second act, with fine acting and crisp dialogue. A must see for any art lover, but potentially fascinating for all theater goers.

Outstanding performances by the entire ensemble and a handsome set. Washington Theatre Guild deserves kudos for producing thoughtful, understated plays such as this one.

Seating is first come first serve and we were able to sit in the second row. I volunteer at the National Gallery of Art so it was very interesting to hear the story relevant to the Gallery's history.

Excellent acting. Brought an important slice of art history to life which I was unaware of. Enriches my appreciation of the National Gallery of Art.

I'm an avid theatre goer, but this was my first time for Washington Stage Guild. It won't be my last -- this was a terrific production of a riveting play.

The play raised interesting questions about art and history and domestic life. It was well acted. We especially liked the actors who played Mary and Duveen. We went home and looked up books about I Tatti and Giorgione and Titian.

The story was interesting, but it was the acting that really impressed me.

very well done. First part could have been tighter, but over all, very interesting show about attribution of paintings , personal relationships and the context of Italy and the world at the eve of the second world war.

We really enjoyed the play, especially the second act. The actors and director also hosted a discussion after the play, which was a pleasant surprise. The theater itself, which is in the ground floor of a church, was much nicer than we would...continued

I loved the play. The acting was superb and the subject intriguing and thought-provoking. It seemed a little slow in getting to the main subject matter that I had read about, but once it got there, I found it riveting. All seven people how...continued

The first act is boring and filled with inconsequential banter among the three actors. It takes until the second act to get to the substance of the play, which is the tensions between the two art masters. i enjoyed parts of the second act,...continued

We had not previously aware of the theater space, which worked quite well, and the play and the staging were very nicely done.
