This was the most boring opera I have ever gone to. The only interesting part was the set, but it wasn't worth sitting there for three hours. The singers tried hard, but the opera itself was very boring.

It was really quite fantastic. One of the best productions that I've seen at WNO. Music was gorgeous. Eric Green, Stephen Costello and Talise Trevigne were especially strong in their roles. Cold notwithstanding, Carl Tanner put in a fine...continued

I think "Moby Dick" may enter the repertory. It's a piece I would see again. I thought this particular production was beautiful, and almost all the singing was first rate. Some of the singing was stellar. I hope we get more of these kinds of...continued

One of the most amazing opera performances I have ever seen! So extremely creative, it held my attention from the first moment. First rate cast and wonderful music, fresh but not so modern as to be out of reach. Definitely not to be missed!

Exceeded expectations. Didn't have any idea what to expect when I first heard that Washington Opera would do "Moby Dick." First performed in 2009. It's quite a show, just for staging alone. Fine orchestra performance, some arias and choruses...continued

This is a great opera. The music is quite interesting, very haunting and very powerful. The change of scenery is remarkably fluid. I was expecting the story to be a bit boring but it was quite interesting. I was really impressed by this event.

A well sung, beautiful production. The music was good, if not memorable.

A great night at the opera. Seats good even though high up; opera written in 20120 with creative digital scenery, tuneful music, excellent singer, big orchestra sound. Even Ann Midgette had grudging appreciation.

Bargain second tier seats offer great view and wonderful
acoustics. Don't miss the debut of this spectacular opera.

the stage set was great. A classic American story worthy of Opera status.

Extraordinary singing by a first rate ensemble....Heggie and Scheer are brilliant and I look forward to future colloborations by them. In spit of Carl Tanner having a cold his singing was virtuoso. Costello, Worth, Trevigne,Greene et al super. A...continued

The opera made use of incredible lighting in the sets with unbelievable visual effects. The music was completely listenable even though modern. It all made for a very enjoyable experience.

Some wonderful orchestral music, and excellent staging. But no beautiful singing. No memorable arias. Whatever happened to melody?

Amazing graphics and sets! The story is familiar but the opera setting elevates the action.
