The 90 minutes flew by. Mesmerizing story line, superb acting by all but in partic, Lauren English, who has perfect comedic timing.

Best play I've seen in years. Mamet-like in intensity. All actors were terrific - especially the one playing the instructor. Great staging and sets.

Don't sit in the Mezzanine unless you want an always obstructed view of a deftly acted show. The set - wow! Such detail and quality on a small stage is admirable. Really? Who needs NYC theater with SF Playhouse in the City.

This play was interesting and the dialogue kept us on our toes because we not only had to keep up with what was going on but the lines also made us think about the content of what they were saying too.

Seminar was uproariously funny. I love how the characters each reveal other layers in unexpected, tricky ways, outmaneuvering each other, and surprising the audience in delicious ways. I love the shifting alliances, the betrayals, and the...continued

Everything Theresa Rebeck writes is pretty fantastic and this is no exception. Sparkling and wicked dialogue among the four aspiring novelists and their seminar teacher. Lots of New York wit, some of it savage, as they deal with their anxieties...continued

A solid gold script with a solid gold cast. Of the dozen or more productions we've seen at SF Playhouse, almost all of them very good, this was outstanding. We were still talking it over a couple of days later, a sure sign of a thought-provoking...continued

I really do enjoy the work put on by the San Francisco Playhouse. They are very professional. This particular performance was very entertaining, the dialog, the acting and the humor made this a play I have recommended to friends? It was a great...continued

The play provides an excellent commentary on the perils of writing and being a writer; from the jaded Hunter Thompson character to the young hopefuls. A lot of good snappy dialogue and some great acting.

The play was GREAT. The venue not so much. I have watched a play from the mezzanine before, but the railing is very blocking of the stage from almost every row. Alone, I moved to a better empty seat, but then late arrivers were allowed in at any...continued

Thought the play was great--really provocative as it "fleshed out the skeletons " of each character. It certainly didn't romanticize being a writer !

The script is smart, incisive, and merciless; and the production and acting do full justice to it. A fun and thought-provoking evening for grownups.

The best thing about this play was the set design. Amazing! The actors were wonderful too. It is the play that lacked. Being a product of many very well known writers workshops, including U of Iowa's Writers Workshop, I could easily relate to the...continued
