The stage was fabulous as was the costuming. There were two problems that the production can correct. One was the sun. Just draw an isle down the middle having people sit on either side and the sun will not be in their eyes. The second was the...continued

The venue was OK, the actors superb, the weather a little cool. I have seen Hamlet several times and this is the first time that I cried when Hamlet died. The transformation of Ophelia was totally incredible, did not seem like the same actress.

Once again, OPFT does Shakespeare better than the big guys. This Hamlet was 100 times better than CST's and Writers' productions a few years ago. The actor who played Hamlet was excellent, and the correct age, unlike both of those other...continued

I am always impressed by the performances by this theater company. The actors were great, the costumes were great (interesting update, for sure) and the stage was just right for this production.
I just wish the acoustics were a little better. I...continued

Cool beautiful night but was constantly distracted by the overhead planes which were loud and frequent. Plan on paying at least $5 for parking in the lot across the street. Took as little while to get use to the costumes verses the story but...continued

There were several good performances by seasoned veterans. The younger members of the cast did not understand how to use Shakespeare's language; also it's called acting not emoting.

The performance was wonderful. The only problem was the microphones. They were placed around the stage but in some instances the actors were between them and the dialogue was very hard to hear. The location is great, plenty of free street parking....continued

Was a nice venue for the performance. Outdoors in beautiful little park was perfect setting. Although a few of the actors were weak, the actor who portrayed Hamlet was excellent. Not sure why they decided to set play in 1920's Chicago and then not...continued

Great show. Hamlet translated well into Jazz era mobster setting. The outdoor setting is great for summer nights and picnics.

Great outdoor setting. Very well done rendition of Hamlet. Setting in Prohibition - era Chicago was an excellent fit for this well-known play. Very much enjoyed.

The night that my boyfriend and I went and saw this production was perfect. It was a still, soft night and the performance was fantastic. I was mesmerized by the beauty of it all. The actors were all wonderful and so passionate and into their...continued
