The front desk seemed a bit disorganised and when they led us to our seats they said "you can sit anywhere in this area except for those six spots which are reserved", but there were no other seats available! No effort was made to apologise or help us as the hostess just walked away feeling slightly embarrassed.

After growing up in Europe, North and South America, this Irish-Peruvian-Swede decided to focus on Brazilian music after falling in love with Bossa Nova as a teenager. She spent 11 years in NYC selling out clubs like Dizzy’s (Jazz at Lincoln Center), Blue Note, and releasing a chart topping album, Lazy Afternoon, which Downbeat Magazine said “has all the wonder of a magical discovery”. The album included American & Brazilian jazz, as well as award-winning original compositions. After touring worldwide, she landed in Washington, D.C. three years ago and immediately became lead singer of Brazilian-Psychedelic band Alma Tropicalia. At the Carlyle Club, she will be performing a mix of Brazilian and American jazz.
