Famed for weaving world-music sounds with traditional Japanese koto music, composer-player Yukiko Matsuyama won a Grammy with the Paul Winter Consort for their album Miho: Journey to the Mountain
and shared the stage with Shakira at the 2011 Latin Grammy Awards show. Now she'll perform at the Maloof this Spring for a special event that includes an outdoor courtyard concert, tours of the debut exhibition With Strings Attached: Art in the Craft of Sound
and a post-performance reception. The historic Arts-and-Crafts-style Maloof house opens its doors for docent tours of the new display, which spotlights more than 30 beautifully hand-crafted musical instruments from across the globe, along with a selection of music stands by legendary woodworker Sam Maloof. Then you'll enjoy the live performance by Matsuyama, followed by a wine-and-cheese celebration.
