J Alvarez: Reggaeton Star & Latin Grammy Winner at House of Blues
Since J Alvarez exploded onto the scene, reggaeton -- the quintessentially Puerto Rican genre that fuses Jamaican dance hall music with the wider sounds of Latin America -- has had an all-out renaissance. Performing to the distinctive boom-ch-boom-chick of the dembow beat, Alvarez has sent thousands to the dance floor and won the Award for Best Urban Music Album at the 2012 Grammys for Otro Nivel de Música. Now signed to Sony Music Latin, his latest album De Camino Pa La Cima is set for release this month. Now this San Juan-native, famous for singles like "La Pregunta" and "Te Deseo," comes to shake up the House of Blues in Anaheim with a lively concert.
