Coming off his critically-acclaimed Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim's Follies,
director Eric Schaeffer returns to his home as the artistic director at the Signature Theatre to helm this eagerly-anticipated revival of the composer's Company
. It's a 35th birthday celebration for still-single Robert, attended by his married friends and his three girlfriends. Through a series of vignettes, this witty and wise musical reflects on connections and commitments, marriage and contemporary relationships. The show also boasts the hit song "Being Alive," plus "Side By Side," "Another Hundred People" and "The Ladies Who Lunch." With a score by Sondheim and book by George Furth, Company
won multiple Tony Awards in both its original staging and its Broadway revivals. Known as something of a Sondheim specialist, Schaeffer has guided Signature to more than 70 Helen Hayes Awards, plus a 2009 Regional Theatre Tony.
