Stone Temple Pilots' Scott Weiland Plays Hits From STP's Core and Purple Albums
Scott Weiland -- the electrifying former frontman and lyricist of the platinum-selling rock band Stone Temple Pilots -- is stepping out solo for a show highlighting hits from the smash STP albums Core and Purple with support from his new backing band, the Wildabouts. Core, released in '92, spawned the singles "Creep," "Wicked Garden," "Sex Type Thing" and "Plush," which went on to win the Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance. The follow-up disc, Purple, debuted at No. 1 on the album chart in '94 and remained there for weeks, off the success of songs like "Vasoline," "Interstate Love Song" and "Big Empty." The Last Internationale opens the show.
