Maestro Antoni Wit Leads the World-Famous Warsaw Philharmonic
Poland's legendary, century-old Warsaw Philharmonic arrives in Atlanta with their acclaimed maestro Antoni Wit wielding the baton for a performance spotlighting soloist Yulianna Avdeeva. Still in her twenties, the Russian pianist became the first woman in more than 40 years to win first prize in the 2010 Chopin Competition, and was a 12-year-old child prodigy when she received her first major international award. The famed orchestra itself has also won major recording awards, including a Grammy nomination. As Poland's national symphony, they've toured all over the world and at major international festivals. Don't miss the chance to see them perform at Emory as part of the Candler Concert Series.
