Coping With America: Three Immigration Tales
A sequel to the hit production Coming to America, Theatre Esprit Asia's Coping With America offers tales of power, humor and grace told in three separate one-act plays. In "All of the Above," a techie comes to terms with racism, fear, humor and the American dream. "Gunpowder Man" tells of two Chinese workers building the railroads of the American West, right before the Chinese Exclusion Acts took effect. Lastly, "The Occidental Moon" is a fantasy sci-fi meditation by an Indian scientist who considers his nation's space program in relation to its ancient texts about the moon. Coping With America presents these distinct points of view at ACAD: Aurora Cultural Arts District.
