Elvis, Cash and More Rock Legends in Million Dollar Quartet
In December of 1956, rock and roll legends Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins recorded together for the first and only time at the Sun Record studio in Memphis, Tennessee. Million Dollar Quartet is the Tony award-winning Broadway musical inspired by this infamous recording session. A story of broken promises, secrets, betrayal and celebrations, Million Dollar Quartet features songs like Elvis' "Blue Suede Shoes" and "Hound Dog," Cash's "Walk the Line" and "Folsom Prison Blues" and Lewis' "Great Balls of Fire." Many of these songs were penned by Perkins, the rockabilly musician who also wrote hits like "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On" and "Matchbox."
