Riccardo Muti & The Chicago Symphony
Maestro Riccardo Muti, travels west with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for a concert that kicks off with the theme to The Lone Ranger, otherwise known as Rossini's William Tell overture. This CSO performance at Cal Performances' Zellerbach Hall also features the West Coast premiere of All These Lighted Things by composer-in-residence Elizabeth Ogonek, and comes to a thrilling conclusion with Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 4, subtitled "Romantic," that famously opens with the sounds of daybreak and is said to have been inspired by Wagner's grand operas.
