I enjoyed the concert very much, my untrained ear was not prepared to hear new music.

Description

Berkeley Chamber Performances presents the San Francisco Guitar Quintet.

David Dueñas, Mark Simons, Patrick O’Connell, and Jon Mendle are four Bay Area guitarists performing an expansive and vibrant repertoire of Classical, Spanish, Jazz, and World music. Veteran performers of newly composed music as well as time-tested classics, the SFGQ’s programs offer a concert experience that is at once balanced, engaging, and delightfully diverse.

Founded in 1997, the San Francisco Guitar Quartet has established itself as an enduring presence in the guitar world through its ground-breaking concerts and recording. Grounded in tradition, they are committed proponents of new music, coalescing classical, world, and improvisatory musical traditions.

About the Ticket Supplier: Berkeley Chamber Performances

Berkeley Chamber Performances is a nonprofit presenting organization for chamber music in the East Bay. Founded in 1993, it presents mostly, but not exclusively, local ensembles and attempts to press the boundaries of “chamber music” by including in each five-concert season, ethnic, multi-disciplinary, commissioned or first performance presentations. Concerts take place Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m. in the historic Berkeley City Club. Following each performance audience members can attend our Meet-the-Performers reception to connect with the artists. Berkeley Chamber Performances loves expanding its audience to those generally not attending chamber music concerts.
