The Diva Foundation is a national not-for-profit 501C(3) charitable organization that was founded by actress/honored activist,Sheryl Lee Ralph, in 1991, as a memorial to the many friends she had lost to HIV/AIDS. The organization focuses on generating resources and coordinating activities to create awareness of and combat against HIV/AID. The DIVA Foundation utilizes music and entertainment as a vehicle to inform, educate and erase the stigma attached to this deadly disease.
This year’s event marks the 18th year of Divas Simply Singing. The show is known for its unparallel mixture of comedy, song, beauty, fashion and the kind of heartfelt human compassion that links generations, races, subcultures and unifies us all in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Diverse talents such as Chaka Khan, Oleta Adams, Melissa manchester, Dianne Reeves, Roberta Flack, Eartha Kitt, Stephanie Mills, Stacey “Fergie” Ferguson, Raven, Miss. Nancy Wilson, and many others have all raised their voices in song and support of Divas Simply Singing.
Divas Simply Singing has given assistance to organizations such as Project Angel Food, Caring for Babies with AIDS, Minority AIDS project, National Minority AIDS Council, and AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
