Dance-Theater Adaptation of Oscar Wilde Fairy Tales
COMP - $10*
The ever-nimble wit of Oscar Wilde animates Dancing Wilde, the entertaining new dance theater piece from Boston Actors Theater. Adapted by locals Elizabeth DuPré, Nicole Howard and director/choreographer Danielle Lucas, Dancing Wilde finds inspiration in two shorter works from the acclaimed Irish writer of The Importance of Being Earnest and The Picture of Dorian Gray. The Young King tells of a shepherd who feels guilty about the riches that await him upon his unexpected coronation, while The Birthday of the Infanta recounts the tale of a dwarf who's unaware he's an object of amusement for a young princess. Poetry, storytelling and dance combine in this original production.
