Solo Pianist Maurizio Pollini
Upon hearing the young Maurizio Pollini play in 1960, Arthur Rubinstein -- no slouch at the keyboard himself -- was moved to declare, "that boy can play the piano better than any of us." Over the next half century, Pollini has gone on to prove Rubinstein right, succeeding him as one of the world's best. Now this Italian virtuoso and his "virtually infallible fingers" (The New York Times) come to Boston Opera House.
