Legends of Disco: Melba Moore & More
See a group of R&B legends share one bill when Legends of Disco hit the stage of Lehman Center for the Performing Arts in NYC. Headlining the show is R&B legend Melba Moore. Nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best New Artist,” this Tony Award winner began her career as a backup singer for Aretha Franklin and Dionne Warwick, then stepped into the spotlight with starring roles in Broadway productions of Hair and Les Misérables. The Ladies of SKYY, Denise, Dolores and Bonné Dunning, are best known as the female vocalists of the hit group known as SKYY. Also sharing the bill: Double Exposure, best known for the ‘70s hits “Ten Percent,” “My Love Is Free,” “Everyman” and “Perfect Lover,” Carl Carlton, best known for his hits “Everlasting Love” and “She’s a Bad Mama Jama,” D Train, famed for “You’re the One for Me,” and influential Philadelphia disco girl group First Choice, who’ve been covered by the likes of Mary J.
