For this season's final installment of BRIC House Sessions, the cutting-edge classical collective known as The Knights explores the wide influence of Eastern European folk music, from traditional tunes by Romani artists all the way up to modern times. This Brooklyn concert is set to feature new arrangements of Brahms' famous Hungarian Dances, along with a world-premiere arrangement of Ligeti's Hungarian Rock by The Knights horn player, Michael P. Atkinson. Openers are the vocal trio Black Sea Hotel, known for their "close, difficult harmonies" as they "take some of the most compelling elements of Balkan folk music and strip them down to their barest form" (Washington Post).
