I am a big fan of the shocking, and this play was advertised as such. I appreciate like thought-proving art, something that will make a good conversation topic after I'm done enjoying it. This play was... meh... not thought provoking, I'm afraid. We didn't discuss it much, other than to marvel why people thought it was shocking and controversial. I felt like I was in a drunk man's dream land in this play, and it was as I would have expected. Depressing, no way out of it, full of gratuitous sex and violence, but not in a good way. Reading about it later, I realized "what the point is supposed to be" but it wasn't apparent in the play so I wasn't as impressed as I should have been. Maybe I'm just not enlightened enough. The individual actors were all wonderful but the storyline just did not compute, even to me, a person who doesn't mind stories with no end, no beginning, and no point.

Great production of a lesser known Tennessee Williams' work. It runs 1:45 with no intermission, so plan ahead. But the time flew by, and before I knew it, it was done. The actors are strong with great singing by some. The lighting was great...continued
