Sunday, January 21 at Noon – Berlin to Buenos Aires
Journey from poetic Germany to passionate Argentina by way of Austria. Experience the tradition of the Romantic era with Mendelssohn’s lively and melodic Trio in D minor before being transported to Buenos Aires where Piazzolla traces the history of the tango in Histoire du tango. Also included is a brief side-trip to Vienna with Kreisler’s Miniature Viennese March.
Sunday, February 11 at Noon – Mix-Tape Romance
This Valentine’s Day weekend, treat you and your loved ones as Chi Phil shares a heartwarming tale of romance. As a starry-eyed lover puts together a mix-tape for the object of their affection, the Chamber Players tell the story of this relationship through music, with selections from Gershwin, Radiohead, Tears for Fears and the Beatles, as well as works from Haydn, Schumann and Shostakovich.
Sunday, March 18 at Noon – Kings, Queens and Rebels
Step inside the royal court as the Chamber Players present well-known tunes with a classical twist in a collection of covers arranged by Chi Phil’s own Benton Wedge. Kings and queens fight for control in the Game of Thrones theme, Queen reigns supreme in Bohemian Rhapsode, while the rebels from Star Wars, Batman Forever and Slumdog Millionaire join the battle.
