Joffrey Ballet's American Legends Celebrates Acclaimed Choreographers
$40.50 - $76*
$81 - $152
The Joffrey Ballet's 2012-2013 season is devoted to presenting a wide range of works that were either created new for the company or drawn from its legacy. Many choreographers received a place on the American stage because Robert Joffrey was their champion, and American Legends celebrates that. For example, in 1972 Robert Joffrey brought Jerome Robbins' Interplay into his repertoire. And Joffrey first collaborated with Twyla Tharp in 1973, a relationship that's celebrated with the presentation of her Nine Sinatra Songs. The legacy of championing new works continues with the premiere of Stanton Welch's Son of Chamber Symphony. And Sea Shadow is performed in honor of the season that marks what would have been Joffrey co-founder Gerald Arpino's 90th birthday.
