A world-class conductor and a poet for the ages celebrate a new chapter in the Queen City's cultural history during the Louis Langrée Inaugural Weekend. French conductor Louis Langrée, maestro of Lincoln Center's Mostly Mozart Festival, picks up the baton for the first time as musical director of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Living legend Dr. Maya Angelou will narrate Aaron Copland's Lincoln Portrait
in person to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. Langrée will also direct the CSO in Beethoven's Symphony No. 5
, a work of art so representative of human genius that NASA placed a recording of it on the Voyager spacecraft. Be sure and come early to Cincinnati Music Hall for Classical Conversations with Dr. Angelou, complimentary for all ticket holders. See event description for more information about this historic weekend.
