While I was pleasantly surprised how good the performance was, I don’t know how I can adequately describe the show to Goldstar members. Maybe it is best that you check out what Wikipedia has to say about “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloody_Bloody_Andrew_Jackson). If you are looking for something well done that is not mainstream, I highly recommend the performance at the Concord Umbrella Arts Center, especially considering the reasonable cost of the ticket. Even if the subject matter does not interest you (a kinky musical assessment of Andrew Jackson’s life), the singing is first rate and I appreciated how much effort was put into the show's production. The only reason why I did not give the performance 5 stars is because the Arts Center really needs a substantial renovation. Apparently, the building was built in 1929 and was one the town’s high school for many years. The performance was held in the school’s auditorium. The problem is that the seats have not been replaced in the last 80 years. My seat was so bad that I probably would bring a cushion the next time I attend an event there. Ending on a more positive note, parking is free which beats the $20-30 costs one needs to park in Boston to see a comparable show.
