Ninety Miles: Jazz by Stefon Harris, David Sanchez and Christian Scott
Ninety Miles is a conceptual jazz project that's actually based on something very concrete: It's named for the geographic distance between the U.S. and Cuba, and aims to explore the Cuban influence on that most American genre. Leading this expedition in song are three of contemporary jazz's most hotly tipped and critically acclaimed talents: vibist Stefon Harris, saxophonist David Sánchez and trumpeter Nicholas Payton. They'll be backed by Edward Simon (piano), Luques Curtis (bass), Henry Cole (drums) and Maracio Herrera (congas) in an international aural adventure.
