While this show was entertaining, I can't agree with the rave reviews. Most character portrayals slid into over-the-top caricatures, which was fine for the comedic portions but reduced the power and honesty of the more touching moments. ...continued

Please go see this show! It is one of the best we have seen in quite a while. Funny, poignant, moving, professional and interesting. With just a little more polish it will be on Broadway.

I've seen the show several times, mainly because it's not always the same each time I see it. He likes to change things. It really is a great piece of theater. His characters are rich, distinct, and real. He has a wide range as an actor, and...continued

I've been following this show for a while, and it's one of those shows you can see over and over again. I brought my teenage son and he loved it. I hadn't seen him laugh and cry in the theater for a long time. This show is here to stay. I'll...continued

This show is definitely worth seeing. Previous Goldstar reviews sparked my curiosity and I am now an advocate for the show, lol. The performance was entertaining amd comical, but also heart-warming and heart-wrenching at times. It was amazing to...continued

It grew on me. In the end, he won me over. He displayed humor and emotion; the story was current/relevant.

This one man show describes the difficulties of a first year teacher, the problems in the educational system, and the poignant story of two students. The story of the students is beautifully executed and acted and there is a good mix of comedy...continued

I should start this by saying "spoiler alert" for minor pieces of the play. I went to see this show based on the reviews. I found parts of this show quite touching and other pieces laugh out loud funny. Yet the direction of this show needs some...continued

I loved this show! Not only is it very well performed, written and directed but it moved me both to tears and laughter. I had heard this show was excellent but I didn't believe it until I saw it for myself. I could definitely see this again.

We, as well as most of the audience, are educators. We enjoyed the show. Mr. Fry gets a little carried away at times, but he gets his points across in a humorous and sometimes poignant way.

Disappointing. Mr. Fry has many talents, as showcased in this one-man play. Portraying an inadequate teacher, among other characters is one of them. But, I didn't laugh much, or cry at all. His projection was uneven, from raging to whispering too...continued

As a retired teacher of 42 years, who knows about the teaching profession and LAUSD, it was so realistic, poignant, and funny.
It is a must-see. Excellent on every level.

I totally enjoyed this show. With great wit and comic-actor talent, Jack Fry literally plunges into an unfamiliar chaotic world and comes out wiser, still groovy and inspirationally committed to a true calling of teaching. Bravo.

Excellent one-man show comes alive! Mr. Fry impersonates his star pupils with a sense of humor and pathos. It is funny, heartwarming, and a valuable insight into the trials of our children and teachers east of downtown.
