Very interesting place to see a play. The actors were not miked, staging and setting were interesting. Audience was a mix of ages. Highly recommend attending a show.

Learn more about director and CSC Artistic Director Ian Gallanar.

Chesapeake Shakespeare Company presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This Shakespearean classic provides a cavalcade of fun for audiences of all ages. Staged by founding Artistic Director Ian Gallanar as a carnival, this well known comedy is enhanced with musical numbers, juggling acts and vaudevillian schtick. With sets and costumes reminiscent of the reign of the traveling “big top,” A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a visual feast sure to dazzle.

Audiences will recognize many of CSC’s resident acting company in the 2011 production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Jose Guzman (Theseus/Oberon), Shannon Listol (Hermia), Jamie Jager (Puck), Vince Eisenson (Starveling), Steven Hoochuk (Quince), Gregory Burgess (Flute) and David Tabish (Bottom).  Newer faces to Chesapeake Shakespeare’s cast of MSND include: Molly Moores (Hippolyta/Titania), Matthew Ancarrow (Demetrius), Kathryn Kelly (Helena) and Julian Martinez (Lysander).
