Legendary American R&B and soul singer and musician Aaron Neville has had four Platinum-certified albums and four Top 10 hits in the United States, including three that went to #1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. His new album, Apache
, touches on the mystic gumbo of the greatest Neville Brothers albums, brings in the sheer sweetness of his most famous solo recordings and diverges toward the hard-edged R&B of the pre-disco 1970s. It's been called the funkiest album of his career, and the most personal, since it marks the first time he's co-written an entire album's worth of material. Aaron hit the big time in 1966 with the delicate "Tell It Like It Is." He and his brothers formed what eventually became known as The Neville Brothers, although he also continued his career as a solo artist. In 1989 he hit the charts big-time again in a duet with Linda Ronstadt called "Don't Know Much," and lately has been issuing gospel albums. Now you can see him live at the Historic Everett Theatre. Singer/songwriter Billy Mac opens the show.
