Exquisitely and artistically a winner. The singing of the cast was top notch, and the intimacy of the Hillbarn Theatre provided the right venue for this Sondheim piece. As an Igmar Berman fan, his influence can be readily seen in the convoluted scheming which occurs. Of particular note are Alicia Teeter and Sarah Griner; always taking command of the stage. A wonderful evening of theatre; reminding me how sterile our lives would be without it. This is another jewel in the crown, which Hillbarn is creating. Don't miss it!
About the Ticket Supplier: Hillbarn Theatre
Hillbarn Theatre boasts a seventy-two-year long history in the San Francisco Bay Area. Beginning as Peninsula Little Theatre in 1934, Hillbarn performed in school auditoriums, under the direction of Robert Brauns, as part of the College of San Mateo Adult Education Program. Hillbarn’s founders, Brauns, Sam Rolph and Ralph Schram took the name “Hillbarn” from two outdoor summers at a barn on a hill on the Belmont-San Mateo border. At this site, the traditions of free intermission coffee and a courtyard bonfire were born.
