A Mormon Family Deals With Gay Son's Suicide in Musical Facing East in Concert
$8 - $10.50*
The touching story of a Mormon family dealing with their gay son's suicide, Facing East is a new musical based on the play by Carol Lynn Pearson. Overwhelmed by grief, they turn to their faith for comfort only to be confronted by the reality of their son's life when they meet his partner, Marcus, for the first time. This timely exploration of the intersection of faith, family and a rapidly changing society is based on Pearson's own experiences as a Mormon formerly married to a homosexual man. This workshop concert is presented in staged reading format, and a portion of proceeds will benefit Resource Center Dallas/Youth First Texas.
