Loved it! Great for all ages, family friendly. Very educational. If Kirk does not change his style and venue, you are almost guaranteed to have a great time. Goldstar's ticket value was great. Wear rubber boots and dress warm! Parking is...continued

At times, Kirk exhibits the enthusiasm and excitement of a 4-year old kid on their first visit to the shore...it was easy to get caught up in the fun, especially with the wealth of knowledge (biological, ecological, and legal) he brings to this...continued

Named Best Walking Tour 2011 by SF Weekly

Description

This three-hour intertidal foraging expedition will blow your mind!

These tours are scheduled at the lowest of low tides so you will be sure to see a vast intertidal smorgasbord of shellfish, (clams, limpets, rock crabs, goose barnacles, mussels) fish (monkeyface eels, grass rock fish, cabezon) and sea weeds (bull kelp, rock weed, nori, sea lettuce) and various other creatures! This class is a mix of “how-to” info, regulations, sustainability, ecology, and more.  Though you won’t be able to forage for yourself on this tour, Kirk can give away anything that he catches and gathers — potentially quite a lot of stuff!
